Shela tomboy pub opened at the end of 2009 off 3rd Road in Pattaya.
It is (allegedly) the same ownership as Zeta and e-fun in Bangkok although we are unable to verify this.
Originally it had the same strict "no male" policy as the bars in Bangkok. This relaxed to allow males to drink outside. However as from July 2010 males are now allowed inside the bar. This applies to single males also but so far we have only seen accompanied males inside.
The bar opens around 21.00 and stays open until 08.00.
It gets busy around 23.00 after which tables are hard to come by.
Around 02.30 it gets VERY busy as the working girls from the bars arrive. Some to meet their toms, others to drink and dance and some to find a bar fine for the night.
Al in all its good fun but unlike the Bangkok bars you do need to remember you are in a "working" bar as opposed to just a fun bar. The hostesses (all tomboy) are there to take care of the customers and short time rooms are available on the premises. Bar fines are 500 baht including the room if required. Arrangements between the hostesses and customers are negotiable.
